What is a Comprehensive Plan and why does Corinth need a new one?
As a long-range plan, the comprehensive plan serves as an inventory of current community conditions and trends and identifies characteristics important for local growth. Adopting a comprehensive plan consistent with the State of Maine's Growth Management Act has numerous advantages including:
1. Preferential consideration when applying for state grants
2. Promoting local resource protection
3. Providing a foundation for land use related decision-making and legally supporting regulations.
4. Long range comprehensive planning provides timely infrastructure improvements and a stable tax rate.
5. Corinth's last Comprehensive Plan was passed in 2006.
In summary it gives vision and direction for our community.
